SLAP & TICKLE? ;)

Lead Producer of SLAP&TICKLE, Tommaso Cartia, and Boundless Theater, invite you to a special Pride Cocktail Hour & Fundraiser: Road to Off-Broadway 2027! on Thursday, June 25, at Hellโ€™s Kitchenโ€™s most elegant and seductive gay social club, Itโ€™s Him Bar.

Join us for a sparkling evening presenting SLAP&TICKLE โ€“ A Theatrical Experience, the provocative, sensual, and darkly funny new queer play by David James Parr (Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference Finalist), directed by Chad Austin (Artistic Director of Abingdon Theatre), as it continues its journey toward an Off-Broadway premiere in 2027.

Come celebrate Pride as we come together to honor our shared history, inspire progress, and create positive change! And play a pivotal role supporting SLAP&TICKLE, a brave new work honoring LGBTQIA+ resilience, history, and legacy. Proceeds from the evening will help fund the next stage of the production's development, bringing this exciting new work one step closer to its Off-Broadway premiere, while also benefiting our nonprofit partner GMHC, whose mission is to help #EndAIDS and combat hate crimes affecting the queer community.

The evening will feature exclusive performance excerpts from the play, tantalizing cocktails, community conversation, exciting Pride giveaways, a silent auction of an original SLAP&TICKLE artwork by acclaimed fine art photographer Steven Menendez. The celebration will also include a special appearance by Krishna Stone, Director of Community Relations at GMHC, plus a few exciting surprises yet to be revealed!

About The Play

Set in 2010 at The Sanctuary โ€“ the last standing gay bathhouse in NYC โ€“ SLAP&TICKLE is a sensual, darkly funny and thought-provoking theatrical experience that immerses audiences in the lives of a group of transgenerational queer characters on a journey of sexual awakening and self-discovery.

From the raw intimacy of bathhouse & sex club culture to the rise of social media & dating Apps, the play explores the queer communityโ€™s evolving quest for connection, identity and the timeless human need for belonging.
